Project Description

“H.I.P.NOTIK”, which stands for “Heavenly Inspired Praise”, is a non-denominational touring production company, complete with costumes, props, a portable theatrical set and a timed, personalized soundtrack, composed of 15-24 talented performers (minimum age of eighteen) from Houston and surrounding areas in the areas of dance, music, theatre and indoor pageantry. Inspired by the Bill Glass Ministries and motivated, stylistically and spiritually, by artists such as Kirk Franklin, Carman and Tye Tribbett, our mission is to educate, entertain and ultimately, positively affect the lives of thousands of male and female inmates in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system through the cognitive and creative combination of the performing arts and popular selections from different genres of spiritual and classical music with some of the Bible’s most memorable and powerful stories, parables and scriptures. Simply put, “H.I.P.NOTIK” brings the wonderful world of the professional caliber performance stage and the vibrant, anointed energy of Sunday morning praise and worship to units in the T.D.C.J. in hopes of spreading messages of love, hope, faith, trust and positive reinforcement to its inmates.

Founded by former M.C. Hammer principal dancer (and proud AMDA-NYC dropout) Shon Sims II, the staff and creative team of H.I.P.NOTIK Productions believes no life is beyond the reach of God’s power, and we envision a future in which countless lives in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice system are redeemed, restored, and reconciled through the powerful combination of the performing arts and the love and truth of Jesus Christ.
