Project Description

Bones and Memory Dance is a project-based dance company in Houston, TX. Under the direction of
Heather vonReichbauer, Bones and Memory Dance is committed to engaging audiences through unique
storytelling. An avid reader, vonReichbauer is inspired by the written word and aims to weave literary
and allegorical elements into a visual tapestry of movement and music, connecting the audience to the
work on a physical and emotional level. vonReichbauer’s distinct gestural vocabulary highlights her
narrative approach to dance and resonates in her storytelling.
Formerly an Artist in Residence with Dance Source Houston, vonReichbauer recently created a new
evening-length work, Madness, Memories, and Woe: A Fantastical Journey Inspired by Edgar Allan
Poe which premiered at MATCH in 2018. vonReichbauer’s work has been presented at Barnstorm Dance
Fest, Mind the Gap, 254 Dance- Fest, Houston Fringe Festival, Houston Choreographers x6, Venturing
Out, American Dance Festival’s Acts to Follow, NC Dance Alliance’s Annual Event, and Greensboro Fringe
Festival. vonReichbauer frequently collaborates with her husband multi-instrumentalist and vocalist,
William vonReichbauer.
