Rachel Redding, a Houston native, holds a BFA in Dance from Sam Houston State University. Her work is deeply rooted in movement, music, and community, shaped by a lifetime of creative exploration from early childhood dance classes to competitive and repertory dance training. In college, she discovered her affinity for choreography, blending modern techniques with ballet, jazz, and hip-hop to create a unique movement language focused on storytelling and lived experience. As a teaching artist, Rachel fosters safe spaces for exploration and prioritizes mental and somatic well-being, challenging traditional aesthetics in favor of genuine expression. Beyond the stage, she is a freelance photographer and movement director, currently exploring the intersections of dance and film with aspirations to choreograph for film and theatrical projects.

Rachel is the organizer of the Houston Dance Co-Op, a volunteer-based community dedicated to providing an inclusive space for adult dancers to connect, collaborate, and share resources. @houston.dance.co.op
