Eli Bivens
Nonbinary / They/Them/Their
Eli Bivens (they/them) is an artist, dancer, instructor, movement maker, and writer in the Houston Bay Area. Eli is a current company member of San Jacinto Dance Company. Eli earned their BA in English, with a minor in German and a concentration in Biology from Sam Houston State University. They are a Fulbright Germany alumni, and a forever mentee of Dan and Marsha Phillips. Eli is currently pursuing their AA in Fine Arts and a Certificate of Technology in Dance Education through the San Jacinto College South Dance program, under the direction of mentors Jenn Salter and Jamie Williams. Eli's research as performance interests focus on queer histories of the European interwar period, with their first professional work, "In Memoriam Le Monocle", premiering alongside San Jacinto Dance Company in 2024 and 2025, and again for adjudication at the 2025 South-Central ACDA Regional Conference. Eli values radical inclusivity, fairness, and collaboration in their artistic process. After graduation, Eli intends to pursue their MA in Dance and Dance History.
