Our Mission
The mission of Dance Source Houston is to empower the diverse individuals and organizations working in the field of dance throughout the Greater Houston region by means of advocacy, inclusive community engagement and support services.
What We Do
Dance Source Houston is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Greater Houston dance ecosystem.
We are a resource hub for members of the local dance community, connecting individuals and organizations to opportunities, information, and eachother. DSH nurtures the practice, creation, and presentation of dance through funding programs, health and wellness access, marketing support, performance opportunities, and more.
We engage and inform dance audiences through our performance calendar and dance writings, highlighting the breadth and vibrancy of dance in our community.
Meet Our Team
Brittany Bass
Program Manager

Brittany Bass has earned her Bachelor’s degree in dance from the University of Houston. Currently, she is a Teaching Artist with Houston Ballet’s Education and Community Engagement Department. She is a member of Karen Stokes Dance Company and has been since Spring 2014. Brittany’s choreographed works have been featured in American College Dance Association, as well as Houston’s annual Barnstorm Dance Festival. Brittany has performed in several Houston dance festivals, including Mind the Gap. Brittany is a former member of the University of Houston’s Dance Ensemble as well as a former member of the UH Young Audience Touring Company. She served as the president of University Dance Theatre, the student dance organization at the University of Houston for the 2013-2014 year. Brittany transferred from Texas Woman’s University, where she participated in the schools International Dance Company and Kids, Dance, an interactive show that teaches dance elements to children.]

Jhon Stronks

jhon r. stronks began his dance training with Sue Sampson- Dalena at the Dance Studio of Fresno, Studying Jazz with Sue as well as Ballet and Hip Hop. jhon continued his dance training and education at California State University, Fresno, and California State University, Long Beach. Jhon also holds a teaching certificate from the Teacher Training Institute in Atlanta, Ga. As a performer he has danced with Winifred R. Harris’ Between Lines (Los Angeles), Keith Johnson and Dancers (Los Angeles), Duende Dance Theater (Atlanta), Coriolis Dance Project (Atlanta), Sandra Organ Dance Company (Houston), Travesty Dance Group (Houston), Leslie Scates (Houston), Pink Aware (Houston) and Spent Five Seasons as a Member of Core Performance Company (Atlanta). jhon’s choreography has been commissioned by The Houston Metropolitan Dance Center, Urban Souls Dance Company, The Houston Black Dance Festival, The South Dallas Dance Festival, Big Range Dance Festival, Mix Match Dance Festival, Core Performance Company, COREdance’s MFA Houston and Miller Outdoor Projects, California State University, Fresno, Moving in the Spirit, and UNC Greensboro. jhon is the Artistic Director of “there… in the sunlight,” which recently received honors from The Houston Press Best of 2013 in the Contemporary/Modern Dance Category.

Mollie Haven Miller
Executive Director

Mollie Haven Miller, the Executive Director of Dance Source Houston, graduated from Texas State University with a BS in Dance. A native Houstonian, Miller has been a part of the DSH staff since 2010, beginning as Programs Associate and later named Executive Director in 2016. Mollie was previously Managing Director of Freneticore Dance and the Houston Fringe Festival, while also performing and teaching across the Houston area. She has also served as a peer facilitator for Fresh Arts’ Artist INC program, a member of the Harvey Arts Recovery Fund steering committee, and Service Organization Council Chair for Dance/USA.
