The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts invites the community to its fourth annual Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) event and Artisan Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, November 2 at the museum. Admission is free.
This family-friendly event will include a public ofrenda, dance performances by Ballet Folklorico and Itzcoatl Tezkatlipoka, face painting and more. Art stations will allow guests to create traditional art such as paper sugar skull masks, tissue paper Marigold sculptures, and monarch butterfly rings.
As part of the event, an outdoor Artisan Market will also be held, offering a variety of art and food for sale.
Guests are encouraged to dress festively according to traditions, and to bring art, photos or other items to add to the public ofrenda.
Registration is requested at pearlmfa.org, where you can also make a donation to support community programming at the museum. Free parking is available behind the Pearl and the Barbara Bush Branch Library. For a schedule of events and to register, visit pearlmfa.org.
