In this workshop led by Kerri Lyons Neimeyer, dancers will use lines, shapes, and related themes in visual art pieces as inspiration for building dance with their bodies. Dancers will explore movement within their own kinesphere and in the shared space of the studio, working individually and collaboratively to create dynamic representations of visual motifs. The visual art used for inspiration will be pieces in the Museum of Fine Art Houston collections and other examples of work by the artists represented in the collections. Those artists will include Ruth Asawa, Henri Matisse, Gego (Gerturd Goldschmidt), and Wassily Kandinsky.

So much art is out there waiting to be danced! Get started with this all-levels, looking and moving workshop at Frame Dance.
