Celebrate Cinco at Miller! Cinco de Mayo at Miller is a longstanding tradition presented in partnership with the Consulado General de México en Houston. We are pleased to present for our 2024 season Ballet Folklorico de Los Angeles!

Founded in 2011 by Kareli Montoya, Ballet Folklorico de Los Angeles (BFLA) has distinguished itself as the leading Mexican folk dance company in the United States of America. Its cast has graced world-class venues such as the Hollywood Bowl, SoFi Stadium, Anaheim Convention Center, Orpheum Theatre, Nokia Theatre, Greek Theatre, John Anson Ford Amphitheater, Santa Barbara Bowl, Soraya Theatre, Staples Center, Tempe Center and the Rady Shell in Jacobs Park.

Since its inception, BFLA has worked with the industry’s top Grammy Award-winning artists, including Lila Downs, Pepe Aguilar, Mariachi Divas and Mariachi Los Camperos. They have also accompanied great mariachis such as Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlan and the internationally renowned Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan. He has also worked with music celebrities such as Ana Bárbara, Morrissey, Ruben (Café Tacuba), Las Cafeteras, Beatriz Adriana, Banda El Recodo, Paquita la del Barrio and Armenian pop star Lilit Hovhannisyan.

BFLA was the first folkloric company in the country to accompany symphony orchestras such as the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra and the Marina del Rey Symphony, both conducted by Maestro Frank Fetta. Media coverage has made BFLA internationally recognized, especially after appearing in the 2016 issue of National Geographic Traveler UK and with their collaboration with Mitu Network on a new Mariachi version of “A Tale as Old as Time ” from Beauty and the Beast, being viral on Facebook with more than 15 million views.

BFLA collaborated with Disney Studios during 2017-2019 to launch “Coco” at events such as D23 Expo, the premiere of Coco at the El Capitan Theatre, Dancing With The Stars, “Disney Night,” and the 90th Annual Disney Awards. the Oscar Awards alongside Natalia Lafourcade, Gael García Bernal and Miguel with a performance of the Oscar Award-winning song, “Recuérdame.” They have also collaborated with sports teams such as the Rams where they performed at a halftime show in 2022, and with the Dodgers during season games.

Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéllar Biography

Jaime Cuéllar’s Mariachi Garibaldi has enchanted audiences with his dynamic musical talent and joyful stage presence for more than 25 years. Founded in 1994 by Jaime Cuéllar, Mariachi Garibaldi’s dedication to high quality representation of the mariachi genre has propelled them to be one of the most recognized mariachis in Los Angeles and arguably in California.

Under the direction of Jimmy “El Pollo” Cuéllar, Mariachi Garibaldi is considered one of the most prominent mariachi ensembles, regularly coming to share the stage with some of Mexico’s most beloved artists, such as the Aguilar family: Pepe, Angela and Leonardo, Juan Gabriel (RIP), Alejandro Fernández, Pedro Fernández, Espinoza Paz, Paquita del Barrio, Aida Cuevas, Ana Barbara, Steeven Sandoval, Graciela Beltrán, María Elena Beltrán, Yolanda del Rio, Pablo Montero, Mercedes Castro, Humberto Herrera, Beatriz Adriana, the Empress of Armenia and fellow Armenian pop sensation Lilit Hovhannisyan Most recently were featured artists at Camila Cabello’s Tiny Desk concert, where they performed the song “La Buena Vida,” truly showing that mariachi music transcends across all platforms

Mariachi Garibaldi enjoys a professional collaboration with the Los Angeles Folkloric Ballet and together they have entertained thousands of people in highly successful venues. The two collaborated with the Mitú network to recreate the “Tale As Old As Time” dance from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, which launched their professional careers and resulted in a viral video with more than 15 million views. His flowery mariachi jacket became a marketed commodity when Dodgers pitcher Joe Kelly wore it with great honor at the White House.
