Wild She Dances, directed by Bethany Logan, is a professional dance company that creates performance experiences rooted in contemporary movement forms, immersive theater tactics, and collective effort. Our mission, with an emphasis in collaboration and community, is to provide performance & creative opportunities for professional artists, while ensuring fair treatment, profound inclusivity, and equitable compensation as core values. We create unique connections with audiences through multisensory experiences and engage our community through movement-based partnerships, outreach, education, and social justice advocacy.
In June 2024, Wild She Dances premiered its third full-length performance and second immersive show, “SOM,” which debuted in Austin, Texas March 2025. In 2023 the company premiered “MILL: An Immersive Experience” at The Silo in Houston’s Fifth Ward, for which the company received the Houston Arts Alliance’s Let Creativity Happen Grant, and has performed multiple works in Houston, TX since arriving in 2021. While in Houston, the company received the Dance Source Houston Groundwork Grant for 2024 and 2025, and also hosted healing movement classes at The Women’s Home. Originally founded in 2018 in Brooklyn, NY, Wild She Dances has performed throughout New York City, including at Gibney Dance, Triskelion Arts, Green Space, and Hudson Guild Theater. In June 2019, Wild She Dances premiered evening-length work “shaking morning” at Gibney Theater as a Gibney POP Artist and toured the work to Ohio for the Cleveland Dance Festival. The company’s past community initiatives include partnerships with the International Rescue Committee and The PILLARS NYC, where they respectively donated a portion of ticket sales and taught ongoing classes in adult movement, yoga, and youth dance classes. Throughout 2020-2021, the company produced virtual and film works seen in multiple online festivals before moving to Texas, where it continues to produce and seeks to create new audience experiences in both Houston and Austin.
