This month’s gathering of the Houston Dance Co-op will feature free workshops led by members of the community. This event will be an opportunity for adult dancers to connect, move, and explore personal growth through movement.

Mat Pilates with Ren
Loren Holmes, a dancer and certified Pilates instructor, will lead a 50-minute mat Pilates session. Pilates is a low-impact workout focusing on core strength, flexibility, and body awareness. This session will include a warm-up, core-strengthening exercises, and a cool-down. Accessible for all fitness levels, it’s a great way to build strength, improve posture, and enhance mental focus.

To Be Scared is to Be Brave: Connecting to the Body through Change with Violet Moon
This session, led by Violet Moon, explores the theme of change through guided visualizations, writing prompts, intentional breathing, and energy movement. Autumn is often seen as a time of transition and ancestral connection. This class will provide a safe space for participants to explore emotions that arise during times of change, focusing on self-awareness and compassion. Violet’s approach ensures a supportive environment that respects individual boundaries and histories.

About Houston Dance Co-op:
The Houston Dance Co-op (HDCO) is a volunteer-based community dedicated to providing an inclusive space for adult dancers to connect, collaborate, and share resources. HDCO’s mission is to foster a supportive environment for working professionals and aspiring professional dancers, choreographers, and educators. Events and workshops are designed for adults 21+ to share talents, recharge from the demands of a dance career, and thrive within the Houston dance and performing arts ecosystem.
