The company’s signature collaborative and improvisational work between contemporary dance and experimental live music will fill the gallery space and its art with live, original music and dance drawing from classical to avant-garde. The performers will create in the moment shapes, sounds and space on site, inviting the audience to experience dance, music and visual art in an intimate and up close setting. The performance is “pay what you can” and will conclude with an intimate talk back with the artists. Performers will draw inspiration from Intimate Geographies by Becky R Soria, a collective of 26 abstracted paintings but viscerally real figures grapples with her and our collective experience that is a culmination of all her years that connect art, our travails, and concerns for life itself. Soria dedicated herself to representing her journey of 40 years as an artist in these works of intimate geography. Group Acorde’s artists Roberta Paixao Cortes, Thomas Helton and Lindsey McGill welcome to this performance guest artists Dawn Dippel (dancer) and Jo Bird (musician).
There is a Q and A with the artists immediately following the performance.
