Andrea González is a native of San Antonio, Texas and commenced her studies of Flamenco and ballet folklórico de Mexico at the age of 3 years old. Her passion and studies extended to classical ballet and pointe, jazz, and tap. She attended a performing arts high school in San Antonio and when attending the University of New Mexico explored intensively Flamenco, modern, Afrikan dance, and contemporary dance. For the last 15 years, she has dedicated herself to Flamenco studying with local artists and attending the Festival Flamenco de Albuquerque for several years before becoming a mother of two. Andrea continues to expand her Flamenco knowledge through participation in local workshops, most recently with Ivan Vargas and Isaac Tovar. She dedicates time and energy to improve her Flamenco technique and expertise through self-discipline and online classes with Cristina Aguilera, Alfonso Losa, Irene “La Sentio,” and Angel Atienza’s online school guest artists Paula Comitre, Florencia Oz, and Mercedes de Cordoba. Andrea has performed on stages and tablaos locally and nationally. She has shared the stage with local Texas artists and international artists like Chayito Champion, Luis Linares, Vicente Griego, Irma La Paloma, Jeremy Garcia, Jesús Muñoz, Amalyah Muñoz, Chuscales José Valle, Ileana Gomez, Alejandro País Iriarte, and Ana Polanco. Andrea has toured nationally as a member of Flamenco company, Solero Flamenco, since moving to the Houston area in 2021.
